Palliser Estate Riesling is beautifully scented, with intense lightly sweet lemon and lime flavours and a long, racy finish. Garden fresh, fruity and zesty, it bursts with varietal character. A beautifully elegant and fresh Riesling bouquet showing lime and mandarin notes with a hint of mineral
Bright straw-yellow colour with lemon-green hues, pale on rim.
The bouquet is soft, full and voluminous with aromas of limes, citrus zest and honeysuckle.
Off-dry, this has attractively luscious flavours of limes and yellow flowers with notes of honey and apricots that fill the palate. There is considerable fruit weight, forming a firm core and soft acidity enhances the fruit richness, which along with a little alcoholic power carries through to a very long, honeyed finish.
Palliser Riesling’s are hard to resist in their perfumed, flavour packed appealingly crisp youth, but they are proven performers in the cellar. After about three-year’s bottle age the wine evolves and rich, complex, honeyish, toasty aromas and flavours unfurl along side the varietal fruit flavours.
This is a powerful Riesling that will unfold to develop more richness over the next 4-5+ years. Match with moderately spicy Asian cuisine
