Pencarrow » Pinot Noir Vintages » 2005 / 2006 / 2007 / 2008 / 2009 / 2010 / 2011

The 2009 season in Martinborough with mid summer warmth and a favourable ripening period has produced a classical Pinot Noir.
Deep dense Ruby red in colour
This is looking very harmonious and supple for a young Pinot, displaying lifted aromas of dark cherry, plum and mushroom.
The palate is beautifully fruited showing velvety texture and beautifully integrated fine tannins. Already beautifully drinking with its supple mouthfeel and excellent fruit intensity.
The 2009 season had a favorable weather pattern that produced a classical pinot noir. This pinot noir was made with traditional Burgundian techniques. The techniques used include a pre-fermentation maceration, wild yeast initiated fermentation and a post-fermentation maceration to ensure the complex tannin structure. After pressing it was matured in French oak casks for 10 months.
At its best: now to 2013.
