Palliser Estate returns again to Toast Martinborough in 2019 with their fresh new vibe. As one of NZ’s premier wine brands, their festival site will be a celebration of summer, with the fine wines you’d expect, accompanied by delicious food and great entertainment.
We have two great tastings taking place:- a wine & cheese pairing, and a tasting from barrels:
The wine and cheese session will start at 12 and the barrel tasting at 12.30.
Both experiences will be sold on the morning of TOAST at the Rose and Bubbly Bar at Palliser Estate. You will be able to purchase your experience ticket with your Toast wristband. We recommend you be onsite about 30min before the start of the first tasting session to purchase your voucher. First in, first served and only 20 tickets will be sold for each tasting.
12pm to 12.30pm : Wine and cheese : $30 per person – 30min – Hosted by Cellar Sales Manager Clementine in Palliser Barrel Hall
12.30pm to 1pm : Barrel tasting ; $30 per person – 30min – Hosted by Chief Winemaker Guy McMaster in Palliser Barrel Hall
A new dedicated Bubbles and Rosé bar will be on offer, serving award-winning The Griffin, and new addition The Rose with fresh plump strawberries, along with their delicious rosé. Or head to the main wine marquee for the full wine range – where every varietal is an award-winner.
The food has also had a revamp, with hot local restaurant Union Square dishing up the goods. Spear-headed by Adam Newell – the first Michelin starred chef to be part of the festival – expect modern kiwi cuisine with a French influence and fresh seasonal produce.
Wellington’s accomplished acoustic trio A Small Victory will play Blues, Soul, Gospel and Pop in the morning, with The Satisfactions cranking it up a gear in the afternoon to keep the crowds entertained.
Topped off with stunning winery vistas and bean bags a-plenty, it’s the perfect way to kick-start your day at Toast.
